home improvements

Taking a trip to Lava while pouring down rain doesn't sound like it could be fun... We found a delicious chinese restaurant on the way home (recommended by Kevin Trost, who has not actually been there) and got to see Richard (dad) for the day. We got to sit in the hot springs by a bunch of beached whales and people picking at their feet. There was one couple making out in the corner and this poor little girl almost drowned because she couldn't stop watching them. SICK. Oh, and we got to see  Darryl Trost who recommended a hot pizza joint (the cook was not even there and we had to wait for our food... ok, ok, a litttle dramatic, but still... the cook was not there when it opened and he said that we would maybe have to wait a little bit). The sad part of the day was when we walked into this house up the street from Darryl's. Not only the house, but everything in it was being auctioned off! and guess by who?? their own children. It was the most tacky house you could ever lay your eyes on and there were still 80 people crammed inside wanting to buy garbage. All bids started at $1.00. So, Lava was not the worst idea. In fact, I enjoyed myself more on this saturday then most. The car ride was quick and I got to spend it with the best guy in the world. This is the Cabin from River's Edge:
It's really fun inside. Lava Rock surrounds a bath tub and its three stories with a huge eagle in the window. it's pretty sweet.

We spent part of our morning redoing the deck out back. We figured that staining it was way too much work. We took the easy way out and painted it.

Tyler and I were able to take a trip to St. George to visit with some friends, it was hot and perfect. We got to do some shopping at the lame lame lame outlet stores. We went on a nice walk through the red rock, hit up the car show and ate ate ate. Tyler also scored a new set of golf clubs a few weeks ago so we couldn't pass up the driving range!

Ty and I have been meeting with the missionaries. We went to temple square and watched the Joseph Smith movie and then went through the presentation of what the church wanted for families. We are excited to share this experience together and with our families. As we were walking around Temple Square I could not stop taking pictures! it was so amazing and especially this time of year.

I think I have 45 posts titled "ARIZONA"

We love Arizona, but we (ok, just I) love Utah even more!  its 79 degrees and perfect.

meow

Bugs is two this month.

I am trying to find a good home for her but it seems impossible. If I knew how to do a background check on people I totally would. I know, crazy right?? I am "that" person. If I were sixty and alone I would have 47 cats. I know it. I just know it.

busy bees

Ty made the best dinner tonight... Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, Asparagus with mushrooms, wild rice and salmon. Mmmmm! SO YUMMY! Spring is coming which means house projects, which includes the most obnoxious chore ever. CLEANING. PUUUUUKE. I am a pretty clean person and we clean every sunday, but not like this. Tyler also made an awesome frame for our room which we have been updating every other weekend or whenever we have time. We are going for the white (not because of our last name) look with a bright comforter. It's working so far. I also officially changed my name, finally. I had to order a new birth certificate, pay a ticket and get my social changed before I could even get an ID. Stupid new law. Anyways, life is great and we are missing my family. It is so strange having them so far away. On the bright side, we are off to arizona in a few days.  Enjoy your spring!

you cant have gourmet with out brownies. Duh.

Tyler made this in five minutes, including the painting. Cute, right?

DC

The first night we were there Bryan was still at work so we met up with HEIDI and went to Potbellys. The best sandwich place ever. That next morning Tyler and I drove the 2.5 hours to Virginia and met up with my family (they moved from Park City about two weeks ago). Our first stop was Monticello (Thomas Jeffersons home), beautiful. It was freezing but so worth it. The whole time we were there I had strep except for my last day. I don't know how I made it but I am still alive. It was really great seeing my family, all of it except where my brother punched me. Ugh! 10 year olds! Our second day was just as fun. We went on a segway tour that included all of DC. We didn't even have to walk, which was such a blessing because the next day we walked all over and had swollen feet. The art museums were amazing and the History museum even  more amazing. We took a tour of the White House, the Capitol and then strolled down to the Library of Congress.  Abraham Lincoln was all over the place. Oh and we went to the Crime and Punishment museum, the portrait museum and ate at three of the best (not including Potbellys) restaurants in DC. Georgetown was great, too. I made out with a new purse and Tyler a new hat. We have had so much fun with Heidi and Bryan and its been great to finally hang out with them one on one. We were so sad to leave but ready to get home. Brace your self for the pictures, I couldn't resist.

thank goodness Heidi let us borrow her GPS... we wouldn't have made it anywhere if it hadn't been for this little device!

We went to Monticello our first full day, it was in Virginia:

We did a segway tour. I only felt embarrassed for the first five minutes:

State capitol tour:
Such a tourist

This church is right next to Bry and Heidis house. it was amazing. We were able to just walk over on our last day and check it out:

Museum of fine art:
I have more pictures that I will post later... Off to work.
