busy bees

Ty made the best dinner tonight... Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, Asparagus with mushrooms, wild rice and salmon. Mmmmm! SO YUMMY! Spring is coming which means house projects, which includes the most obnoxious chore ever. CLEANING. PUUUUUKE. I am a pretty clean person and we clean every sunday, but not like this. Tyler also made an awesome frame for our room which we have been updating every other weekend or whenever we have time. We are going for the white (not because of our last name) look with a bright comforter. It's working so far. I also officially changed my name, finally. I had to order a new birth certificate, pay a ticket and get my social changed before I could even get an ID. Stupid new law. Anyways, life is great and we are missing my family. It is so strange having them so far away. On the bright side, we are off to arizona in a few days.  Enjoy your spring!

you cant have gourmet with out brownies. Duh.

Tyler made this in five minutes, including the painting. Cute, right?

DC

The first night we were there Bryan was still at work so we met up with HEIDI and went to Potbellys. The best sandwich place ever. That next morning Tyler and I drove the 2.5 hours to Virginia and met up with my family (they moved from Park City about two weeks ago). Our first stop was Monticello (Thomas Jeffersons home), beautiful. It was freezing but so worth it. The whole time we were there I had strep except for my last day. I don't know how I made it but I am still alive. It was really great seeing my family, all of it except where my brother punched me. Ugh! 10 year olds! Our second day was just as fun. We went on a segway tour that included all of DC. We didn't even have to walk, which was such a blessing because the next day we walked all over and had swollen feet. The art museums were amazing and the History museum even  more amazing. We took a tour of the White House, the Capitol and then strolled down to the Library of Congress.  Abraham Lincoln was all over the place. Oh and we went to the Crime and Punishment museum, the portrait museum and ate at three of the best (not including Potbellys) restaurants in DC. Georgetown was great, too. I made out with a new purse and Tyler a new hat. We have had so much fun with Heidi and Bryan and its been great to finally hang out with them one on one. We were so sad to leave but ready to get home. Brace your self for the pictures, I couldn't resist.

thank goodness Heidi let us borrow her GPS... we wouldn't have made it anywhere if it hadn't been for this little device!

We went to Monticello our first full day, it was in Virginia:

We did a segway tour. I only felt embarrassed for the first five minutes:

State capitol tour:
Such a tourist

This church is right next to Bry and Heidis house. it was amazing. We were able to just walk over on our last day and check it out:

Museum of fine art:
I have more pictures that I will post later... Off to work.
